Business Operations Associate

Aziza received her Associate’s Degree in Computer Systems Development, and Diploma in Business Management; at the School of Business & Computer Science. She was the award winner for the Junior Achiever Program in 2014 for her: passionate disposition towards work, team spirit, and drive to achieve her project’s mission.

At Virtana, Aziza manages the Financials, Human Resources, and general Business Operations. She is interested in solving problems, improving processes and planning company events. Virtana provides her opportunity for personal and professional growth, exposure to Business Management and Team Leading. In her spare time she enjoys: yoga, painting, and refining her skills as a nail technician.

Main Contributions:

  • Accounting Management

    • Improved Virtana's bookkeeping processes to introduce: reimbursements & loans, multiple currency payroll, company allowances and client material fees while ensuring we met the both international and local accounting standards.

    • Streamlined process for transferring of funds from parent company to subsidiary to cater for future expenses.

    • Liaised with accountants for both parent and subsidiary companies. Ensuring that tax estimates are accurate and paid within the allotted time.

    • Oversee monthly processes such as:  invoicing and payroll.

  • HR Management

    • Developed a solution for our increase in HR requests using Jira Atlassian’s Service desk feature that integrated with our already existing system. It provides employees with an online portal to request for: existing inventory, inventory, purchases, and HR documents.

    • Led the initiative to improve employee morale and mental health. I developed our personal company game (Virtana Bingo) to promote colleague communication and healthy work/home life balance during the pandemic. And, I founded an Event Committee which has formally introduced company events every month to promote colleague interactions.

    • Oversaw and improved the Performance Review process. Took the initiative to include guidelines for managers, high level tracking of the overall process, its stages, deadlines and scheduling.

    • Develop new policies and processes.

    • Lead the internship recruitment process.

  • Ventri

    • Aided in branding and Logo design of Ventri.

    • Designed the Ventri Webpage.

    • Organized the collaborative session with Niherst Fablab.
